Social Studies

The Social Studies Department at Dyersburg High School helps students understand the past, connect it to the present, and prepare for the future. Through courses such as history, government, economics, and geography, students gain the knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to become informed and engaged citizens. Teachers encourage students to explore different perspectives, analyze current issues, and recognize the importance of civic responsibility. The department’s goal is to develop lifelong learners who appreciate the value of history and understand their role in shaping the world around them.
